Editorial Charter & Vision

Al-Faaedah Press

“Beneficial knowledge that illuminates the intellect and grounds the heart in faith.”

A Directorate of MSSN Akinyele Area Council · Ibadan, Oyo State

Our Mandate

Al-Faaedah (Arabic: الفائدة, meaning The Benefit or Beneficial Knowledge) is the official journal and intellectual press of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Akinyele Area Council (MSSNAAC).

Established as a sanctuary for rigorous Islamic inquiry, thoughtful youth commentary, academic excellence, and council dispatches, Al-Faaedah bridges timeless Islamic scholarship with the contemporary lived experiences of secondary school students, university undergraduates, young professionals, and the wider Muslim Ummah.

Our Three Editorial Pillars

01

Spiritual & Moral Depth

Rooted in the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah, fostering sincere devotion, tazkiyah (purification of the soul), and righteous character.

02

Intellectual Clarity

Addressing contemporary societal debates, academic challenges, ethical dilemmas, and youth discourse with reasoned scholarship.

03

Community & Council Dispatches

Chronicling the developmental initiatives, extramural programmes, branch activities, and milestones of MSSN Akinyele Area Council.

Submission & Writing Guidelines

Al-Faaedah welcomes unsolicited essays, book reviews, academic analyses, and reflective dispatches from members of MSSNAAC, students across Oyo State, and independent writers.

  • Authenticity & Scriptural Integrity: All religious references (Qur'anic citations, Hadith references) must be authenticated and cited accurately according to primary sources.
  • Clarity and Tone: We prioritize respectful, constructive discourse that elevates readers rather than sensational or inflammatory rhetoric.
  • Length & Structure: Standard essays range between 800 and 2,500 words. Shorter reflective notes (400–700 words) are also considered for our Notebook column.
  • Originality: Submissions must be original work that has not been published elsewhere unless explicitly agreed upon with the editorial board.
