The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Akinyẹle Area council, held its Sisters’ Seminar on the 21st September, 2025 at the First Bank Building, faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan. The program commenced at 9:20am with an opening prayer by the Amīrah of the Federal School of Statistics (FSS). This was followed by the recitation of the glorious Qur’an by Sis Asma’a Abdul Azeez, the PRO III of  MSSN AAC.
An Afro skill acquisition training session and competition was organised, where sisters showcased styling keyholder aesthetically with Ankara. The microphone was then handed to Sis Aishat Ayoola Abdulquadri, the Ameerah of MSSN AAC, who thanked the guests at the high table, fellow Ameerahs, the seminar’s planning committee, and everyone present.
The next session introduced the keynote speaker, Alhaja Sofiyat Idowu Sanni, former Ameerah of FOMWAN who spoke on the seminar’s theme, “Beyond the Gram”, stressing the importance of managing time, particularly online and referred to Qur’an 103 – the stage when a fetus is given a soul, concluding with the advice: “Spend your time wisely to attain the Rahmah of Allah.”
An interlude featuring an entertaining game called the ‘scavengers hunt’ where the sisters were challenged with picking a particular uncommon object from the audience while the best participant was rewarded followed suit.

The program continued with a health talk on “Endometriosis” presented by Dr. Shakirat Olayinka Ladipo Olanlege, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist and University of Ibadan alumna. She captured the concept through its definition, pathophysiology, causes, symptoms and the treatment options and made points on menstruation and the  Anovulatory cycle, and ended her speech by advising the sisters on the essence and benefits of getting married early. In her words: “Settling down should be your priority.”
The session that followed featured a  panel session on relationship talks. The moderator was Dr Bello Zainab (Dr Zee), a graduate of medicine and surgery, while the panelists include: Mrs Latifat Adewumi Jumah popularly known as Laj Fingers, author of Islamic stories and novels, Sis Khadijah bint Ma’ruf, a passionate psychotherapist and mental health coach and Mrs Madinat Salam, a relationship expert and counsellor. The panelists’ speeches centred on the essence of open communication and the dos and don’ts in relationships.
The next event focused on an  Islamic lecture delivered  by Mrs Aishat Moyosore, a graduate of the  University of Ibadan and a psychologist, on the topic “Rediscovering the fitroh in a filtered World.” She explained what fitroh – natural inclination towards worshipping Allah is, and the ways to rediscover it, emphasising on the benefits of knowledge and character building.
The seminar ended with a pad-launching session led by the Ameerah of MSSN AAC and Dr. Zainab Bello, where secondary school students received free pads and learned about menstrual hygiene and the correct way to use them, with the closing remark done by the mother of the day,  Dr (Mrs) Motunrayo Kafilat Oyaremi.
