EXECUTIVES' CORNER: MSSNAAC Officials Share Invaluable Advice for Student's Success and Muslim Youth Empowerment

Through a compelling array of messages, MSSNAAC’s executive leaders, representing the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria in the Akinyele Area Council, provide invaluable counsel, directing the focus toward academic achievement, individual development, and the incorporation of Islamic principles within both student and the wider Muslim youth community.
“As for the students, they should stay focused on their academics and not be distracted by anything because ‘there is a proper time for everything’. This is their proper time to learn. Walk away from things that aren’t encouraging you to excel. Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome. And finally, if you want to achieve excellence, you can get there today. As of this second, quit doing less-than-excellent work.”
Tirmidhi Mustopha, Ameer, MSSNAAC
“I believe it is important to always be kind to others. Also, share what you have, there is love in sharing. Don’t be stingy.
If you find good qualities in others, try to incorporate them into your own behavior.
It’s important to remain humble, regardless of your status. As the prophet said, ‘No one with an iota of pride will enter Jannah.’ Always strive to help others selflessly, without expecting anything in return, for it is truly a virtuous act.”
Abdulhamid Adio Tunde, PRO 1 MSSN AAC
“More effort to acquire knowledge: Pursue knowledge not just in academics but also in Islamic studies. Surah Al-Mujadilah, verse 11 encourages seeking knowledge above material wealth.
Practice good character: Strive for honesty, integrity, kindness, and compassion, as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 21 describes him as the ‘best example’ for all believers. We should emulate him and the reward is clearly stated.”
Adedokun Abdulroqeeb Adeyemi, Assistant General Secretary 1.
“There is one thing I want you to always remember which is to practice Islam- the true Islam, you will practice it unapologetically. Don’t feel sorry and try to explain to your peers why you can’t go to the club, dance, and cheat among others. You don’t need to explain your religion or try to lessen your religion’s ruling to suit your friends. Practice your religion in a complete way for none of your peers will be there for you on the day of Al- hisaab.”
Muhsinah Sharafdeen Wuraola, A. DOS 4, AAC.
“Achieving success is a continuous journey, requiring unwavering commitment to one’s goals. It’s essential to be authentic, dedicated, and proactive in pursuing your aspirations.
“Embrace your unique identity, exert diligent effort, and maintain a positive mindset. Incorporate prayer and reliance on your faith as sources of strength. Remember, nothing is too hard to handle.
Cultivate a mindset of positivity, channeling your best efforts toward your objectives. As you navigate your academic and personal endeavors, may Allah provide guidance, assistance, and ultimately crown your endeavors with resounding success.”
Adebayo Mushinah Adedamola, A. DOS 5, AAC.
“Maintain a balanced and measured approach to love and hatred because people change and feelings fluctuate.”
Tomiwa Haruna (AMO II)
“What is worth doing at all is worth doing well. For every endeavor we lay our hands upon be it academics or learning about the Deen or skill, I implore us to do it well. Barakallahu feekum.”
Ayyuub Salako, Social and Welfare Officer I, MSSN AAC.
“You are a Muslim and a leader, always remember that, and let it reflect in your way of life. In everything you do, never forget your outset and your goal; always keep your eyes on the price. Never underestimate yourself; play your part well, put in the work, and leave the rest to Allah.”
Lamidi Aisha, Deputy Editor, MSSNAAC.
“Consistency is the backbone of success; it turns sporadic efforts into lasting achievements. Embrace habits, for they solidify consistency and carry you through when motivation wanes.
Challenges will come, but it’s the unwavering commitment to consistency that sees you through. Remember, motivation initiates the journey, but consistency ensures you reach the destination.
Jejelaye Abdulsobur Olalekan, Assistant Director of Studies 2, MSSNAAC.
“In whatever academic pursuit you embark on, do not even think of giving up because it does not pay. Also, do not underestimate your prowess because you never can tell what you’re capable of when you work hard. Always stay blessed and honored. I’m rooting for you! Barakallahu feekum.”
Sakeenah Abdurrahman, Naaibatul Ameerah, MSSNAAC
“For Muslim students aiming to improve in their studies, focus on effective time management, consistent revision, seeking help when needed, and maintaining a healthy balance between academics and personal well-being. Embrace a growth mindset to overcome challenges and stay connected with supportive communities for encouragement.”
Yusuf Kamaldeen Kolapo, P.R.O 2, MSSNAAC
“The students should be monitored both in class and in their relative hostel, and most especially in the hostel, they might be captured vividly in class due to their tutor’s concentration on them. Showing results of past extramural students may also be an advantage to them by making it a role model for them so that they will also feel like achieving the same or more excellent results.”
Akeem Sukura Opeyemi, AMO 4, MSSNAAC
“[Try to] know or always understand the main objective of MSSN, for [you] to be able to gain from the impact and be useful for the coming generation.”
Yusuf Fadhilah, Treasurer, MSSN AAC
“Live and let live”
Adigun Mubaarokah, Social and Welfare Officer 2, MSSNAAC
“Use the internet as a tool for education more than entertainment, and remember stress is a fact of life, but it should never become a way of life.”
Obisesan Mustapha (Abu Zubayr), Divisional Coordinator of UI and Agbowo Jurisdiction, MSSNAAC.
“Persist in your endeavors, as Allah bestows blessings on human endeavors. Your efforts, when pursued earnestly, will be rewarded by Allah. However, it is crucial to understand that achieving positive outcomes requires dedicated work. I encourage students to persevere and strive for their goals, as Allah promises to grant them success.”
Adeniran Hassan, PRO III, MSSNAAC
“Dear friend, seize the opportunities of your youth to learn, explore, and engage in benevolent actions, earning the pleasure of ALlah (S.W.T) before the swift arrival of old age. Keep in mind that time is your relentless adversary in the pursuit of worldly and hereafter goodness. Hesitation and indecision are not tolerated by time; therefore, move thoughtfully and decisively to avoid being overtaken. For, many a man fails to realize this until there came to him CERTAINTY (DEATH)!”
Kasali Habeeb Ademola, General Secretary, MSSNAAC.
