I'M A TREE IN THE STORM

By Adegoke Rahmah
I am like a tree
in the middle of a storm
supported by my trunk
for God knows how long.
The storm was strong,
yet I say to my Lord
“O Lord,
I do not ask
for the storm to stop,
instead, I ask
that you make my trunk strong
so that I can hold on for long
and see the end of the storm”.
