MSSN Akinyele Unveils Theme for Sisters’ Seminar, Calls for Massive Turnout

By Muhammad A. Adedokun
The planning committee of the Annual Sisters’ Seminar of Sisters’ Circle, MSSN Akinyele Area Council, has officially unveiled the theme for this year’s edition of the long-awaited developmental program.
The theme, “LUX INTUS,” was revealed yesterday, May 14, 2026, in a short video shared across MSSN Akinyele Area Council’s official communication channels, quenching the thirst created by the anticipation of the theme among prospective attendees ahead of the seminar scheduled to be held in a few days at the New Faculty Lecture Theatre (NFLT), Faculty of Science, University of Ibadan.
Commenting on the seminar, Ms Faatimah Akinpelu, a member of the Sisters’ Circle, said that she’s confident that the calibre of the guests will not only make the seminar a memorable one, but also allow attendees to listen and learn from the wealth of experience of these high-ranked individuals.
Speaking on the preparation and the challenges of the seminar, Ms Abdulwasi’i Aasiyah, the chairperson of the planning committee, stated that “this seminar is aimed at nurturing Muslim sisters spiritually, intellectually, and morally while creating an atmosphere for beneficial learning, reflection, and growth. As preparations continue, we remain grateful to Almighty Allah and to everyone who has contributed towards the success of this programme so far. Alhamdulillahi, some amount has been raised. The amount raised so far is, however, far below the estimated budgets needed for the event, we are still in need of sponsorships and financial support to achieve the standard and impact envisioned for this programme.”
“We therefore humbly call on Islamic organisations, well-to-do individuals, business owners, and every generous servant of Al-Ghaniyy to support this noble cause through donations and sponsorships. No contribution is too small, and every support will go a long way in facilitating a beneficial and impactful seminar biidhnillahi,” the chairperson stated.
She subsequently shared the organisation’s account details for donations and support from members of the public.

She further stated that there’s a room for business owners, entrepreneurs, and vendors to showcase their products to over 500 secondary school students. This opportunity is one in a thousand for a business to make huge sales.
Encouraging participation, Ms Asmaa Abdulazeez, a member of the committee stated that, “It is an opportunity to grow, reflect and connect with people. It is a space full of reminders, sincere conversations, shared experiences and beneficial knowledge. You’ll get the chance to strengthen your deen and have clarity on issues that concern Muslim sisters, and make friends. Sometimes, one lecture, one reminder or even one conversation can be what you’ll relate to. It is a gathering that nurtures the mind and leaves you with lessons that remain long after the seminar ends.”
The meaning of the theme: “LUX INTUS,” included value-packed sessions, types of gaming activities, refreshment types and other included benefits of the program are kept under wraps till the D-day.
