The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Akinyele Area Council(AAC), commences its first Educational Conference Program, Skill Acquisition Session on Saturday, 27th September, 2025. By 9:10 a.m., eager students had begun registering for the various skill classes.

The session officially began at 10:00 a.m. and ended at 1:45 p.m. It was hours filled not with lectures or notes, but with the thrill of learning something entirely new. From bead making to resin art, from content writing to crocheting to DIY Power Bank Making, students were not only taught skills, but also encouraged to see themselves as creators and innovators.

After the completion of the Skill Acquisition Session, some students innovators were interviewed.

For Adesola AbdulLateef of Tibyan College, he was exposed to the world of Content Writing. In his speech, he shared: “We were taught how to be better writers. The first step is the heading, then the introduction, the body, and finally the conclusion. I will be glad to teach other students in my school too.”

Kaothar Adebiyi of Amao College had her hands full with sparkling beads of different shapes and sizes. She described the experience as “very interesting and impactful,” adding that she couldn’t wait to replicate the beauty of crystal, pearl, and rice beads back in her school.

Meanwhile, Dashiru Rodiat from Imam Zubair Model High School discovered the creativity of Resin Art. She happily spoke about phone pouches, necklace pendants, and pens that could be crafted from resin. “I made new friends,” she said, “and I will be glad to recreate what I was taught.”

And then there was Abdur-Rasheed Faheezah of Al-Fitroh Academy, who spent the day weaving yarn into beauty through Crocheting. With just basic stitches, she produced a hair scrunchie. “It was very interesting,” she said. “I’ll be glad to teach my schoolmates. I also made new friends.”

By the time the session ended, one thing was clear – the session was more than just a program, it was the starting juncture for creativity, friendship, and personal growth. Students didn’t just learn skills; they carried home stories, inspiration, and the courage to share what they had learned with others.

The MSSN AAC’s Skill Acquisition Session may have ended at 1:45 p.m., but for the students, it marked the beginning of new possibilities.
