Unbroken Faith

By Amatu Rahman
Allah never promised us a life untouched by sorrow.
He never said the road would always be smooth,
or that our hearts would never ache from loss,
disappointment, or waiting.
What He promised was something greater.
That He is with the patient.
That hardship does not arrive without ease.
That no burden is placed upon a soul beyond what it can bear.
And that every trial carries a purpose,
even when we are unable to see it.
There are seasons that shake us.
Moments when prayers seem suspended between the heavens and the earth.
Days when calamity arrives uninvited,
stripping away certainty,
comfort,
and everything familiar.
Yet faith teaches us not to break.
Not because we are strong on our own,
but because we are held by the One whose promises never fail.
The believer bends,
but does not snap.
Cries,
but does not despair.
Falls,
but does not remain on the ground.
For beneath every wound lives the conviction that Allah is still writing a story we cannot yet understand.
And if He has brought us this far,
He will not abandon us midway.
So we hold on.
Not to the hope that life will become easy,
but to the certainty that Allah is true.
True in His wisdom.
True in His mercy.
True in His promise.
And sometimes, that certainty is enough to carry a heart through storms it never thought it would survive.
The calamity may remain for a while.
The night may stretch longer than expected.
But faith remains unbroken,
because the One we trust has never broken His word.
