Big Little Things

Little sparkling things

Held in contempt

Embers of fire

White lights of torches

That ruin a fortress

Petite spot of palm oil

On a plain white cloth

Aye! Those little things!

Little sparkling things

Seeds that grow into an orchard

Flame that matures

And destroys its very creator

Disliked minor, oh flimsy manners

That accumulate and gang up

And humiliate so honored ones

Oh! Those little things!

Those little fierce things

Small yet heavy

My mate, run away

As you flee

From the crystal clear big things

Like a freed bird

For this small things, my mate

Will tease and whyne

And play with you

Till it becomes the boss, master.

These small bad deeds

Eats up ones heart

Like a lice in the hair

Like a rat eats your foot

And airs it.

A deeply insightful exploration. The balance between academic discipline and spiritual consciousness is precisely what our student body needs today.

Jazakumullahu Khayran to the editorial team. The references from Surah Taha were especially grounding.
