By Favor, Not Might

Murithadoh Abdullahi Akorede
You strove for it through days and nights,
Is that how you got it right?
You took few steps, yet reached great heights—
By His grace, not by your might.
You worked so hard—so did your neighbor.
Why was it yours that got the flavor?
Only the fool thinks it’s by labor;
The wise know it’s the Creator’s favor.
It’s a pity that no one cares,
About the pain the loser bears.
Only when you win comes the flare,
But when you lose, you’re just a spare.
The struggle is real—we know how you feel.
You’re not alone in this ordeal.
We feel your pain; we hear your squeal.
Be assured, in time, your wounds will heal.
