My Department, My Future

By Mubarak Folawiyo Abimbola

Who says my department is not my future?
Just raise your hand and speak up
My department tells me what I become
My department shows what I will be
My future is my department
Have you heard what they say now
Those departments are divided
As one of the scholars said “all departments are one”
Arts department where we have lawyers,  journalists, linguists.
Sciences where we have doctors, engineers, scientists.
Commercial where we have accountants, economists.
We need to know all departments are equal
When a doctor has a legal case he calls a lawyer
When a lawyer has a financial case, he calls an accountant
When an economist has an health problem, he calls a doctor
To finalize it all, department supports each other
Then why do we fight for superiority,
Your department is your future.

A deeply insightful exploration. The balance between academic discipline and spiritual consciousness is precisely what our student body needs today.
