Show Me the Way

By AbdulJeleel Olanrewaju (ABJ)
Why?
Why have you drawn me into this silent closet?
From the moment we met, I stood stranded—
on barren ground, beneath a storm.
With no hesitation, I stepped into the drenching rain,
a wanderer, yet not without direction.
In your absence, I ache for your presence,
but a few borrowed hours are never enough.
Can you take my hand—
and walk the path of forever with me?
Where do I stand in your heart?
All I see is a swirling nebula.
Show me the way—
I’ll ride in on a golden horse, if that’s what it takes.
Aren’t you weary of this gentle resistance?
I don’t want to be a guest at your threshold.
Let me in.
Trust me with your heart—
and I will keep it glowing, not just for me,
but for us.
