We’ll Make It Still

Murithadoh Abdullahi
Some days feel light, some days weigh down,
Some days we wear a heavy frown.
Sometimes the rhythm flows with grace,
Sometimes we crawl to keep the pace.
My leaves are piling,
Tests are smiling.
Crying or wailing—
But tears won’t bring the winning.
We weather the storm and the drowning boat.
No vote was cast to keep us afloat.
I accept my blemishes, I’ve taken the oath:
P and C—we’ll succeed in both.
Never will I quit in the middle.
Not now—we’re not the second fiddle.
Though obstacles narrow like a needle’s eye,
Our thirst for triumph will not die.
